The Traveling Wilburys
Coverage from AOL, Far Out Magazine, and others

The Traveling Wilburys formed in 1988 when Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne recorded “Handle With Care,” initially intended as a B-side for Harrison.
The song became the starting point for Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1, made through relaxed sessions and shared songwriting rather than a conventional band hierarchy. Their work brought the five musicians’ distinct voices and styles into a playful group sound. After Orbison’s death, the remaining members made Vol. 3, extending the group’s story while honoring his place in it.
