Nashville has moved to limit data center development after opposition to DC BLOX’s proposed campus near the Nashville Zoo and Fisk University’s planned facility.
Metro Council adopted a temporary permitting freeze and dedicated zoning rules addressing facility size, power, water and sewer capacity, noise, cooling, lighting, and generators, while the city also pursued eminent domain over the DC BLOX site. The resulting lawsuits and possible vested-rights claims leave both projects’ timelines and legal status unsettled.
