Climate-Driven Hunger in Africa
Coverage from Al Jazeera, VIF India, and others
Across African communities, drought, failed rainy seasons, floods, and other climate shocks are undermining food supplies, livestock, markets, health services, and household security.
In Somalia, prolonged drought has contributed to severe malnutrition, mass displacement, conflict pressures, and reduced humanitarian assistance; in Uganda’s Karamoja region, crop failures have prompted emergency food distributions; and floods in Mozambique have damaged farmland and disrupted market access. The subject also examines how poverty, weak services, insecurity, and limited relief funding deepen the human consequences of climate-related food crises.
