Met Police Exposes Fayed Accusers' Emails

The Metropolitan Police accidentally exposed the email addresses of roughly 140 people who had received updates connected to Operation Cornpoppy, an investigation involving alleged sexual abuse linked to Mohamed Al Fayed.

The disclosure occurred when recipients were copied openly in an 11 August email rather than hidden from one another. The force apologised, contacted affected individuals, referred the incident to the Information Commissioner's Office, and reviewed its procedures, while legal representatives raised possible compensation claims.
