Bob Dylan’s “Wallflower”
Coverage from AOL, Yahoo News UK, and others

Bob Dylan recorded “Wallflower” in New York in 1971, but his version remained unreleased until it appeared on The Bootleg Series Volumes 1–3 in 1991.
Doug Sahm recorded the song with Dylan contributing guitar and vocals, and Sahm’s 1973 album brought it to a wider audience. Later versions by David Bromberg, Buddy and Julie Miller, Uncle Earl, and Diana Krall carried the country waltz into new interpretations, giving the song a life beyond Dylan’s own recording.
