Army Seeks Longer-Range Counter-Drone Missile

Army is seeking industry proposals for a Next Generation Counter-sUAS Missile to engage Group 2 and Group 3 drones at ranges beyond 16 kilometers, with an eventual objective exceeding 25 kilometers. The radar-guided interceptor is intended to launch from existing Coyote-based systems and connect with Army air-defense radars, with prototype testing targeted for fiscal 2027 and an initial 50-missile assessment planned for 2028.
