Waxhaw Approves Data Center Moratorium

Waxhaw officials approved a 12-month moratorium stopping new applications for data centers, cryptocurrency mining, data storage and processing, and related telecommunications infrastructure.

The pause gives the town time to review zoning rules, close potential loopholes, and assess land-use, infrastructure, environmental, and operational impacts before considering future proposals.
