Verizon Connects Google Data Centers

Verizon has signed a dark-fiber agreement worth more than $1 billion to connect Google's data centers and is pursuing additional AI Connect contracts.

The carrier also plans to retrofit selected central offices into power-ready, permitted edge data centers for low-latency inference workloads. The strategy could create new contracted revenue beginning in 2027, but analysts question the scale, duration, margins, and construction content of the projected opportunity.
