Tulare County Data Center Moratoriums

Tulare County approved a 45-day moratorium on new data centers in unincorporated areas while officials review potential effects on water, electricity demand, noise, agriculture, air quality, and public infrastructure.

The action follows opposition to Global Stack LLC’s proposed 8-to-10-megawatt edge-computing facility near the county fairgrounds, while Visalia and Hanford consider or pursue additional restrictions. Residents are seeking a permanent ban, but the proposal and the long-term regulatory response remain unresolved.
