Senator Faces Scrutiny Over PAX-1

Greg Rothman is facing scrutiny after his family real-estate firm received an undisclosed fee connected to the $30 million sale of land assembled for the PAX-1 data center in Middlesex Township. Rothman says he was not involved in the sale, while the deal’s broker said the payment covered earlier work. The planned three-campus project still faces additional approvals, appeals, and local opposition as developers target 1.35 gigawatts of capacity and a first-phase delivery in the second quarter of 2027.
