Saudi Arabia’s Three-Zone Azure Region

Microsoft plans to open the Saudi Arabia East Azure region to customers in November 2026, with three availability zones in the Eastern Province for government, private-sector cloud, and AI workloads.

The region is intended to provide local data residency, security, resilience, and lower-latency access while supporting Saudi Vision 2030. Microsoft and an IDC study sponsored by the company project substantial economic and employment benefits, while the launch also forms part of Microsoft’s broader 2026 capacity expansion.
