QTS Ends Appeal, Killing Prince William Data Center Project

QTS withdrew its remaining appeal to the Virginia Supreme Court, ending plans for the 2,100-acre Prince William Digital Gateway near Manassas National Battlefield in Virginia.

The project’s rezoning approval was voided after courts found that the county did not provide legally adequate notice for the approval hearing, while Compass Datacenters and the county had already exited the litigation. The decision halts a proposed 22-million-square-foot, multi-gigawatt campus and highlights the permitting, legal, land-use, and community constraints facing large data center projects in Northern Virginia.
