Meta's multi-year data center project near Holly Ridge is bringing construction workers and new demand for housing and local services to nearby communities.

Reports describe furnished homes renting for about $3,000 a month, compared with $1,200 to $1,500 before the project, alongside new or expanded businesses serving workers. The added activity also brings concerns about dust, overnight noise, traffic, and whether housing demand will last after construction ends.
