Hanover County Advances Iron Horse Campus

Hanover County’s Planning Commission voted 5-2 to recommend rezoning and advance Tradeport Hanover Land’s proposed Iron Horse data center campus near East Patrick Henry Road to the Board of Supervisors.

The project could add data center buildings and supporting infrastructure across roughly 78 acres, while raising questions about water withdrawals, wastewater, electricity demand, traffic, noise, and air quality. The Board’s final vote has not been scheduled, and the project’s proposed closed-loop cooling system is intended to reduce water use.
