Bow Coal Plant’s Data Center Test

Granite Shore Power is pursuing preliminary federal and utility reviews for a potential data center at the former Merrimack Station coal plant in Bow, New Hampshire.

Eversource is studying a possible connection of up to 350 megawatts, while other descriptions indicate the facility could initially use up to 200 megawatts. The project could reuse existing grid infrastructure and expand Bow’s tax base, but it still requires further grid analysis and local, state, and federal approvals amid concerns about electricity costs, water use, noise, emissions, and land impacts.
