AI Data Centers Turn to Nuclear Power

S. nuclear power companies are signing or pursuing long-term supply agreements with major technology firms as AI data centers increase expected electricity demand. Constellation Energy’s agreements with Microsoft and Meta are linked in part to a planned restart of Pennsylvania’s Crane Clean Energy Center, while Vistra and Talen also have agreements serving large technology customers. These deals could support new data center capacity, but project timelines, financing and demand projections remain important uncertainties.
