Virginia Makes Rooftop Solar Cheaper

Virginia has launched Switch Together, a statewide rooftop-solar bulk-buying campaign organized by Solar United Neighbors with support from Governor Abigail Spanberger's office.

By aggregating customer demand and using vetted installers, the program aims to reduce installation costs by about 20% to 30% and may also offer discounts on batteries, electric-vehicle chargers, and some heat pumps. Early interest is substantial, but the campaign's final participation, capacity, savings, and geographic reach remain to be demonstrated.
