SUNOTEC has begun construction of a 100 MW/441 MWh standalone battery energy storage system in Stendal, Saxony-Anhalt, with commissioning planned for the first quarter of 2027.

The SECURSUN joint venture with securenergy is delivering the project, while WT Energiesysteme is building a 110 kV substation for grid connection. The facility is intended to store surplus electricity and return power when needed, supporting renewable integration and electricity-system flexibility.
