OCP Green Energy is commissioning a 25 MW/125 MWh lithium iron phosphate battery system at OCP Group’s Benguerir mining complex in Morocco. Coupled with a 67 MWp solar plant, the five-hour system will shift daytime solar generation into peak-demand periods while supporting frequency regulation, reactive power compensation, and power quality. OCP expects the project to reduce peak-hour electricity costs by about 25 percent and strengthen renewable power supply for industrial operations.
