BKV is combining natural-gas production, midstream infrastructure, processing, and carbon capture and storage within a single Texas operating platform. The Barnett Shale acquisition adds production, infrastructure, and an existing operated CCS project to that integrated footprint.

Eagle Ford and Cotton Cove are designed to sequester a combined 122,000 metric tons of CO2 annually, while the acquired Barnett project had captured more than 100,000 metric tons over the preceding year. The developments link carbon capture directly to BKV’s natural gas processing operations and support the company’s stated goal of reaching 1.5 million metric tons of annual CO2 injection capacity by 2028.
