British Columbia has begun construction of the approximately $6 billion North Coast Transmission Line, with initial phases planned to connect Prince George, Glenannan, and Terrace by 2030 and 2032.

The line is expected to more than double east-west transmission capacity and extend hydropower access to mining, manufacturing, clean-energy, and liquefied natural gas projects. A potential third phase to Bob Quinn Lake remains proposed, while the federal government has committed $3.5 billion in support.
