AI Systems Need Binding Controls

Organizations are shifting from documenting AI risks to establishing people, processes, and technical controls that can pause, reject, or correct AI systems in operation.

The recurring focus is on binding authority, named ownership, continuous evaluation, and control mechanisms for agentic systems with access to sensitive data or business processes. Regulatory requirements such as the EU AI Act, alongside NIST and ISO guidance, are increasing pressure to demonstrate operational accountability rather than rely on policies or dashboards alone.
