SLA Breach Exposes Legacy Test Data

The Singapore Land Authority reported unauthorized access to a cloud development and testing environment managed by IBM, exposing real personal information belonging to about 70,000 people.

The affected dataset contained names, NRIC numbers and property addresses despite being intended for mock or anonymized testing, while SLA said its live property systems were not compromised. The incident highlights the security and privacy consequences of retaining legacy records and using inadequately anonymized data outside production systems.
