NHS Tayside Probes Medical Record Access

NHS Tayside is investigating allegations that staff accessed the medical records of nine-year-old Minnie Merriman without authorization or a clinical need while she was being treated at Ninewells Hospital.

The health board says any confirmed data protection breach will be recorded, investigated, and potentially reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office. The records accessed, staff involved, and extent of any disclosure have not been established publicly.
