Meta Adds Private AI Chats

Meta is rolling out Incognito Chat for Meta AI on WhatsApp and its standalone Meta AI app, using a secure processing environment that the company says prevents it from accessing conversations.

Chats are not saved by default and messages disappear after the session, although the initial feature is limited to text and includes safety controls. The launch addresses concerns about users sharing sensitive information with AI systems while raising questions about implementation details, legal access, and the tradeoff between privacy and capabilities such as model improvement or abuse detection.
