Arkansas Cities Reject Flock Cameras

Multiple Arkansas communities have ended, paused, or reconsidered Flock Safety license plate reader programs as residents and officials question surveillance intrusiveness, data ownership, retention, access, and system reliability.

At least five communities rejected the cameras within several weeks, while other cities continued operating them or approved new contracts. The decisions highlight an ongoing local debate over whether vehicle-image collections deliver sufficient public-safety benefits to justify their privacy and accountability costs.
