ADT Breach Exposes Customer Data

ADT confirmed that unauthorized access detected on April 20 exposed personal information belonging to a limited set of customers and prospective customers.

The confirmed data included names, phone numbers and addresses, while a smaller portion of records also contained dates of birth and the last four digits of Social Security numbers or tax identifiers; ADT said payment information and customer security systems were not accessed. ShinyHunters claimed a substantially larger theft and alleged that an employee’s Okta account enabled access to Salesforce, but ADT has not publicly confirmed those details.
