Cat Power Sings Dylan is Chan Marshall’s faithful but personal recreation of Bob Dylan’s acoustic-electric 1966 concert at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall.

Released and performed under the better-known but technically incorrect Royal Albert Hall title, the project revisits a set associated with songs such as “Like a Rolling Stone,” “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Ballad of a Thin Man,” and “Visions of Johanna.” Its significance lies in the way Marshall treats Dylan’s concert as both a historical performance and a living repertoire, connecting the original recordings and bootlegs with contemporary interpretation.
