Bob Dylan’s “Motorpsycho Nitemare”

“Motorpsycho Nitemare” is a Bob Dylan song known for its comic, burlesque storytelling and satire of anti-communist suspicion.

Its cinematic allusions include references to films such as Psycho and La Dolce Vita, which contribute to the song’s playful, culturally referential character. The song’s place on Another Side of Bob Dylan situates it within an album-length body of Dylan’s songwriting while its distinctive narrative and satirical focus make it a subject in its own right.
