World Cup Drone Restrictions And Waivers

The FAA is imposing temporary flight restrictions around FIFA World Cup 2026 stadiums, fan events, team hotels, training sites, and other protected locations across the United States.

The restrictions prohibit unauthorized drone flights while allowing some operations through air traffic control or Department of Homeland Security authorization, including a reported waiver for a 500-drone show in Chattanooga. The measures increase compliance and enforcement requirements for commercial operators and event organizers while preserving a limited path for approved work and performances.
