Russia’s Geran-2 drones—derived from Iran’s Shahed-136—depend on a network of factories, materials, components, and suppliers centered on the Alabuga complex in Tatarstan.
Alabuga-Volokno, part of Rosatom’s UMATEX division, produces carbon-fiber materials, while reported Chinese supplies of polyacrylonitrile and other components support manufacturing.
