Drones Proposed Inside Washington Arch

Donald Trump has proposed using a planned 250-foot triumphal arch near Arlington National Cemetery as a military complex for storing and rapidly deploying large numbers of drones, with rooftop and plaza sniper positions also described.

The proposal has drawn questions about military utility, logistics, aviation safety, preservation, and the practicality of operating near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and other major military sites. Although federal planning and aviation approvals are reported, lawsuits and court-ordered notice requirements mean construction and the project’s final form remain unresolved.
