Claude Aids Autonomous Drone Targeting
Coverage from Yahoo, Euronews, and others

Anthropic reported that Russia-linked developers used Claude coding tools to develop software for FPV drones to identify targets and, in some accounts, trigger detonation without human confirmation.
The work reportedly involved combat footage from Ukraine and hardware or simulated testing, but Anthropic said the capability had not been deployed operationally. The reports also describe Anthropic’s decision to disable associated accounts and share findings, highlighting challenges in limiting AI assistance for weapons development.
