China’s WZ-X Drone

Coverage from Asia Times, TWZ, and others

China’s WZ-X Drone topic image

The WZ-X is an informally identified Chinese unmanned aircraft described in imagery and analysis as a very large flying wing with features associated with low observability.

It has been linked to the Malan test facility in Xinjiang, and its unusual airframe has prompted assessments that it could support long-duration reconnaissance and communications networking in contested airspace. Strike capability has also been proposed, but the aircraft’s official designation, specifications, mission equipment and operational status have not been confirmed.
