Beijing to Ban Drone Possession and Transport From November 15

Beijing authorities will prohibit private drone possession and storage from November 15, 2026, across the Chinese capital after a fatal aircraft crash exposed enforcement gaps.

Beijing authorities will prohibit possession and storage of drones within Beijing from Nov. 15 after a late-June aircraft crash killed the pilot and injured 13 people.

Beijing municipal authorities announced on September 14 that Beijing will ban drone possession, storage, transport, and flights from November 15 after heightened airspace security concerns.

Beijing authorities are requiring drone owners to dispose of or relocate devices by November 15 across the Chinese capital after airspace-security concerns intensified following a fatal June aircraft crash.
