Beijing Drone Ban

Beijing is imposing citywide restrictions on drones that extend beyond unauthorized flying to possession, storage, sales, and bringing drones or designated components into the capital.

Owners must sell, recycle, scrap, or move their equipment outside Beijing by November 15, with subsidized buybacks, recycling support, and possible confiscation or fines for noncompliance. DJI stores and other authorized sites are involved in the disposal process. The rules reserve narrow exemptions for approved emergency, agricultural, research, and counterterrorism operations, reflecting a municipal approach to airspace security and controlled low-altitude activity.
