Shenna Bellows withdrew from Maine’s Democratic U.

S. Senate nomination contest shortly after entering, choosing to remain secretary of state and oversee the state’s elections. Her departure follows Graham Platner’s withdrawal and leaves more than 10 Democrats competing for the nomination, which 601 delegates are scheduled to select on July 25. Troy Jackson has gained early delegate support and is reported to lead available polling, but the convention outcome remains unsettled as rivals continue competing.
